Nikon F-301
I got back my dad's old film camera Nikon F-301 from the repairs today. How shall I say this... I felt like a kid all over again! I have such fond memories using this camera more than 15 years ago. It has since become faulty and only recently I managed to get it looked at. For RM400 I had the camera fixed and two lenses cleaned. The Nikkor 50mm f1.4 prime and Nikor 35-135mm f3.5-4.5 zoom lenses were in such bad condition (fungus, dust, etc) and I was really amazed how clean they are now. Eddie, the camera guru really came through with this one. Oh, you can see from the pic at left that I also have the Nikon Speedlight SB-15 flash. That thing itself is one capable little puppy I tell you... Click on the pic to see a larger version and you can see that the light unit of the flash is tilted slightly upward - it can actually go all the way up. Likewise, the whole flash can be tilted straight up, and all the way to the other side too.
Taking pictures...
I met Eddie at Amcorp Mall (where else?) today to pick it up and I bought a roll of film from a shop nearby as soon as we confirmed that the camera was working. The guy at the photo shop looked at me funny for about two seconds when I asked him for a roll of film and so did a few guys there who were buying some digital cameras
Anyway, got back to the mamak shop and heh... it's really been a while since I last loaded a film onto a camera. It felt nostalgic to say the least. So yeah you bet I took some photos but that's when it really came to me - the feeling of not being able to look at the preview screen was... weird.
Now that I've got 36 exposures loaded into the camera it's probably gonna be a while till I can see the results. But then again, maybe not... Which is okay, but I need to find out which shops in KL that still do film at reasonable prices.

This is very interesting since I have one of this F301 in my drybox. Since you have two lenses, it would be cool to have another one. I have little use of this camera so if you are interested in having another one, just visit my gallery here:

Notice that the rewind lever is missing but still working. I'm interested in letting go just the body at a very reasonable price. I can tell that you are very good with these precision equipments too.
Excellent website and you are very talented in registering images.
Have a nice day!
Regards.
